22 JOHN D. LINK was appointed vice president for administration in the reorganization of the Ecusta Paper and Film Group. He had been vice president and general manager of the Film Division since October 1969, after having had a wide range of service since joining Olin’s Win chester-Western Division in 1951. He had assignments in research, industrial relations and industrial engineering in New Haven and cor porate staff work in New York City. Prior to his move to Pisgah Forest he was manager of the Olin Foil Packaging oper ation in San Fran cisco. He had di rected Film Di vision’s business planning function and was produc tion manager when promoted to general manager. A native of Pottstown, Pa., where he graduated from The Hill School, he earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engi neering at Princeton University. He later studied electronics at Harvard and radar at M.I.T. He served with the U. S. Navy Submarine Service during World War II. ROBERT COLEMAN HILL, JR., has been employed as an Ecusta man agement trainee, pleted four years in Education at He recently com- of service with the U.S. Coast Guard. A Lieutenant J.G., he was adminis trative and com munications of ficer at Coast Guard Group, St. Petersburg, Fla. After completing high school in his native Salis bury, he earned his B.S. degree Western Carolina University. He was a Dean’s List student, a member of the Legisla tive Council and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He worked as life guard at Camp Harry H. Straus for four summers while in college. HERBERT H. HALL has been ap pointed casting shift supervisor in Film plant at Pisgah Forest. He recently com pleted 25 years of service at the plant, having join ed Olin in Febru ary 1950. After three years in the U. S. Army he served an addi tional 19 years in the Army Re serves. A native of Transylvania County, he attended schools in Bre vard and Blue Ridge Technical In stitute. *** ARTHUR WILLIAM AIKEN, JR., has been promoted to foreman in the pulp mill of Ecusta Paper. He has been with Olin since Octo ber 1963, assign ed first to the pulp mill, electro chemical, carbon ate departments, and had worked as relief foreman in the pulp mill. Earlier work was with Martin and Jones Heating Co., Harold’s Grocery and A & P in Brevard. He worked a year for the state as school bus driver while in school. A native of Brevard, he at tended schools in Rosman where he played football. *** R. BRYAN PADRICK has been ap pointed personnel manager in the Employee and Community Relations Department. Widely experienced in industrial relations, he came to Olin from Rubber maid Corp, at La Grange, Ga. He previously was with Collins & Aikman Corp, at Charlotte, Gen eral Electric at Wilmington, Rie gel Paper Corp, at Riegelwood, and Carolina Power Hanover High School in his native Wilmington, N. C., and received his AA degree at Wilmington Junior College. He later attended the Uni versity of Maryland and the Uni versity of Washington, and grad uated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a B.A. degree in Political Science. He is an alumnus of the Executive MBA pro gram at Wake Forest University, and is a member of the American Society of Personnel Administra tors. He had service in Korea and Viet Nam during his four years in The U. S. Air Force. He was selected an Outstanding Youn Man of Amer ica in 1976 by the U. S. Jaycees. He has served as chairman of the Mayor's Committee for the Employ ment of Handicapped Persons in several cities and on boards of di rectors of United Way and Cancer Society. THOMAS EARL PAYNE, JR., has been promoted to manager of safety and loss prevention in the two cello phane plants. With the Pisgah Forest cellophane plant since his employ ment in July 1952, Payne was ap pointed assistant safety supervisor ten years later when he trans ferred from the Process Control Department. He was promoted to safety supervisor in 1973. In his new assignment he assumes safety responsibilities also for the cellophane plant at Cov ington, and will become involved with safety activities of Ecusta Pa per. A graduate of Brevard High School, he studied Business Man agement with Alexander Hamilton Institute for two years and is an alumnus of the North Carolina Fire College. Other studies have been in report writing, chemistry, eco nomics and first aid. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, secretary of the Western Carolina Safety Council and is a director of the Transylvania County United Way. He is a native of Tran sylvania County. and Light Co. at **$ Raleigh. He graduated from New
